Darin Harbick

About

I am a native Oregonian raised by parents who instilled Christian values, modeled work ethics, and taught the value of family, friends, and community.

I married my high-school sweetheart, Kail, at the age of 19 and together we raised 3 kids and now enjoy 4 grandchildren and look forward to more.

We have built, purchased, and founded several businesses located in the Upper McKenzie Valley. While managing our businesses I served 14 years on the McKenzie School board, the Lane County Tourism board, and coached high school and college women’s basketball.

My entrepreneurship career began when we purchased Phil Phine’s Phoods in 1991 and shortly after built Harbick’s Country Store, which we later sold. A decade later we built Takoda’s Restaurant, which we recently sold to our daughter and her husband (Taya and Daniel Brock). I also co-own Harbick’s Inc., a logging/dump truck business with my son (Trey and Carlie Harbick).

The most rewarding business is our faith-based residential treatment home which serves people who suffer with mental illness.

From being born in Oregon to serving on the school board, operating several businesses, and working in the logging industry, I understand Oregon. I am an Oregonian in every aspect of the word.

I know I can fight for students, parents, and teachers and stop the state mandates on our local schools that are doing harm. As a business owner, I understand how regulations can make it difficult for us to operate and expand and I would lighten the load that business owners carry on the daily. In addition, I understand mental illness and would like to work with the people who are already helping and are also passionate about fixing this problem.

It saddens me to see so many Oregonians flee this great state that I am so proud of. I am not going anywhere. I am here to fight for children’s safety, education, businesses, and prevent forest fires.

I’m running for Oregon’s House District 12 and would be honored to have your vote.
